How Our Calculation Engine Works
Our calculations follow established automotive engineering standards and clean dimensional analysis:
Liquid & Gas Fuels:
Fuel Required = Total Distance ÷ Fuel Mileage
Total Expense = Fuel Required × Fuel Price per Unit
Cost Per Distance Unit = Total Expense ÷ Total Distance
Electric Vehicles (EV):
Charges Required = Total Distance ÷ Full Charge Range
Total EV Cost = Charges Required × Cost per Full Charge
(Or: Energy Used [kWh] = (Distance ÷ Range) × Battery Capacity [kWh] × Price per kWh)
